Talent Acquisition Coordinator

BC Assessment is currently looking for a permanent Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join our Talent team!  This critical role is responsible for coordinating a variety of functions related to recruitment and selection, hiring, employer brand and our Applicant Tracking System (Workday).  This position works directly with hiring managers, external applicants, and internal employees, as well as liaises with external clients such as educational institutions and various associations.  This role is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of entry to mid-level roles, including the development of recruitment strategy, all associated candidate management, and co-op and outreach programs.  This role also manages social media posts and activities and plays a key role in pre-onboarding activities and candidate experience, which are part of our overall employer brand. 


What will I do?

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment with hiring managers including advertising, screening, testing, and interviewing, and all associated candidate management and communications;
  • Develop and implement co-op, summer student and related internship programs;
  • Partner with hiring managers for the creation of job requisitions, verifies accuracy of recruitment information and where possible, creates evergreen requisitions to support regional recruitment initiatives;
  • Review and makes suggestions to improve selection criteria, interview questions and rating processes and tools; assists manager with preparation of interview questions, answers and scoring/weights;
  • Provide information to management on the application of and correct interpretation of the collective agreement, best practices, labour relations, and processes related to recruitment and selection;
  • Write and edit job postings, recruitment templates, advertisements and social media posts to ensure alignment with employer brand, use of media and best practices;
  • Coordinate schedules and administers pre-employment assessments, and multi-location interview schedules;
  • Review, select and participate in virtual and in-person career fairs and outreach events; makes logistical arrangements and liaises with BCA Ambassadors to ensure participation from relevant groups;
  • Explain BCA application procedures; answers general questions about job opportunities, salaries and benefits, and qualifications; provides informational brochures to participants;
  • Manage the careers inbox for all inquiries from candidates, employees, hiring managers and external clients;
  • Maintain internal careers pages and all related templates, documents and job aides for employees and hiring managers.

You need to be a recruitment professional that is driven by both data and people.  You can see how recruitment fits into the organizational puzzle and how each role – and the right person in it – matters.  Your communication skills are strong in each area and you can effectively interpret needs and translate them into effective (and human!) recruitment strategies.  You know the impact of the broader labour market and understand how recruitment can sometimes be BCA’s “first impression”.  You build and maintain strong relationships at all levels and have the confidence to ask hard questions when required.  You pride yourself on partnering with the business and can adapt your approach based on needs and circumstances.  You are flexible, able to multi-task and can prioritize your workload effectively.  Finally, you care about people, process and results.

  • Compensation: $57,215.06 - $67,311.61

Education

  • Successful completion of a related degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related social science.
  • Post-secondary Certificate in Human Resources or Business with 5-6 HR courses (i.e. staffing, interviewing, organizational behaviour, HR management, employment law, etc.). 
  • Post-secondary Diploma in Human Resources or Business with 5-6 HR courses is preferred. 


Experience

  • A minimum of two years’ of related HR experience, preferably in recruitment and within a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated experience providing client-focused recruitment and selection support.
  • Experience in corporate human resources office would be an asset.
