The busy and well established 6 Mile Pub is looking for a professional Sous Chef to join the culinary team. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, high volume environment in a scratch kitchen using local ingredients. This kitchen has high standards for its food using a multitude of different culinary techniques including fermentation, cures and sous vide methods for preparation among others. The kitchen has a full from-scratch bakery as well as an extensive gluten free program.


This position is for an enthusiastic individual interested in real food who wants to experiment with new techniques and preparations to offer guests food that is well beyond their expectations.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Hands on execution of line service

· Development of cooking procedures to maintain consistency

· Management of daily labour and food cost

· Routine food inventory

· Maintain a high level of cleanliness, HACCP procedures & COVID 19 cleaning protocols


Qualifications

· 3 years experience as a culinary leader in a professional environment

· Red seal certification

· Banquet and corporate kitchen experience an asset

· Passion for the culinary arts and dedicated to local ingredients

· Effective communication skills with management and staff

· Ability to supervise, train and motivate staff

· Computer skills including word, excel and proficient with POS systems

· Food safe


Salary: $50,000.00 per year and a set schedule
