SOCIAL MEDIA AND MARKETING MANAGER - PART TIME

Rook & Rose is a fast-growing floral design company with a retail store, studio space, and events department based in Victoria, as well as a wholesale division based in Los Angeles. We're in regular collaboration with international companies in various industries, including Louis Vuitton, iLoveCreatives, Nora Agency, Egg Studio, and No Revisions.


SUMMARY

Our Social Media and Marketing Manager’s main focus is to produce and manage day-to-day content and engagement across all our social channels.


The ideal candidate is a strong writer with a passion for creating exceptional digital content and interrupting analytical data. They have a willingness to learn and take on new challenges, working in a startup culture environment alongside a passionate team of creatives.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the voice of our brand by responding to comments and inquiries in real-time
  • Stay versed in day-to-day social media and cultural trends and be excited and ready to engage on these topics
  • Build long lasting relationships, growing social media communities
  • Develop new and innovative ways to foster conversation and engage with our brand’s online community
  • Capitalize on real-time opportunities, news and events relevant to our communities
  • Source and cultivate influencer relationships
  • Develop content and copy designed to extend reach across all social media channels (Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok)
  • Have a positive impact, taking initiative to resolve issues, always clearly communicating with both clients and colleagues
  • Work with the creative team to ensure consistent customer facing communications across channels, drafting social media-friendly messaging for initiatives like new feature launches, partnerships, and FAQs
  • Curate user-generated content and support execution of organic social media strategy
  • Oversee and advertise new product releases in-store and online (brand messaging, copywriting, etc.)
  • Capture consumer insights and report regularly on social media community management efforts, trends and opportunities
  • Review and understand analytic data from Google, Shopify, and social accounts to ensure maximization of platform potential


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally with a design-based business
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (marketing, communications, design) or comparable experience in a similar marketing role
  • Proficiency with GSuite, Mac OS, and Social Media (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube)
  • Experience with Shopify, ShopifyPOS, Kalviyo, Canva, Facebook Ads Manager, and Google Ads
  • Experience in online community building and managing social communities, passionate about delivering exceptional experiences in these channels
  • Detail-oriented and thorough, with an interest in consistently tracking the impact of your efforts
  • Entrepreneurially-minded, eager to learn and take on new and varied responsibilities
  • Passionate about problem-solving and able to take direction and constructive criticism professionally
  • Experience and comfort within start-up culture
  • A self-motivated creative thinker with a strong work ethic 
  • An expert team player and a flexible, creative thinker
  • A keen ability to handle and prioritize multiple requests simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong people skills, demonstrated by actively cultivating relationships with coworkers, clients, and brands
