Senior Technical Architect

 $79,530.36 - $90,884.16 annually plus 9.9% Temporary Market Adjustment


The purpose of this position is to integrate and consolidate enterprise/sectorial technical architectures and platforms in support of Ministry or government strategic and operational goals. The Senior Technical Architect organizes, and manages projects concerned with the implementation of new infrastructures and services that will support the business applications and data resources of the ministry or government, and devises ways to efficiently share common services and technology components in a secure environment.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer science field or related discipline and five (5) years related experience; or
  • Diploma in computer science field or related discipline and seven (7) years related experience; or
  • Secondary School graduation or equivalent and nine (9) years of related experience.
  • Four years of experience in a lead technical role, introducing and transforming enterprise technologies in a large and complex organization.
  • Two years’ experience managing the configuration and deployment of technical projects and core infrastructure.
  • Two years’ experience designing technical infrastructure, creating long term plans and strategies and developing technical requirements to support infrastructure technology services. 
  • Experience in managing and supporting major business applications, in multiple areas, such as planning, designing, developing, supporting or maintaining applications.
  • Experience in monitoring the operation of large enterprise applications, remediating failures and performance issues, and applying disciplined change management practices.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux or Windows operating system administration.
  • Experience in database administration using variety of database systems such as MS SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience implementing system automation and ensuring interoperability between cross-domain systems.
  • Experience supervising the work of project teams, contractors and/or staff such as: assigning, monitoring and reviewing work.
