Senior Scrum Master

$72,724.97 - $83,014.85 annually plus 9.9% Temporary Market Adjustment


There is currently one position available. This position can be performed from any location within the province of British Columbia. The successful applicant may remain at their current home location in BC and enter into a telework agreement OR work from a ministry location where office space is available.

As a Senior Scrum Master, you will lead self-organizing teams in applying and optimizing Agile practices to improve team performance and efficiency. The team has shown great value with the work and is scaling. You will be supporting the team in this important endeavor. You will prioritize and overcome blockers and guide the work of others in the team. You will give mentorship and influence others to ensure the Scrum Teams succeeds, and ensure releases are delivered effectively. You will also facilitate accurate and up-to-date status of sprint health, reporting on progress, roadblocks, and timelines. 


Qualifications for this role include:

  • Degree in Information technology, Information Management (IT/IM), Business Administration or related field and 3 years *related experience; OR
  • Diploma in Information technology, Information Management (IT/IM), Business Administration or related field and 4 years *related experience; OR
  • Certification from a recognized institution in Information technology, Information Management (IT/IM), Business Administration or related field and 5 years related experience; OR
  • Some completed course work in Information technology, Information Management (IT/IM), Business Administration or related field and 6 years *related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Related experience must include the minimum number of years of experience for each of the following requirements corresponding to the education listed above.

  • Being in a Scrum Master Role.
  • Experience providing mentoring and coaching teams to adopt Agile values and principles.
  • Experience enabling, maintaining and collaborating processes and communication to support geographically distributed team by using multiple tools (i.e., Miro, Mural, MS Teams, Jira).
  • Experience creating and delivering workshops (i.e., discovery, product iteration, alignment) aligned with Adult Learning Principles for team and stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and implementing organizational change through the lens of stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated development path of training and practical experience showing evolution as a coach.
