The Provincial Identity Information Management (IDIM) Program provides ministries and broader public service organizations with identity, authentication and integration technologies and services to enable employees, businesses and citizens to have access to government programs, services and information – either in person or online

As the Portfolio Manager, Project Delivery you will lead the delivery of a diverse IT portfolio. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Strategic Initiatives and Project Delivery Office, you will be working closely with Ministry Executive, Office of the Chief Information Officer, Project Managers and program area staff. You will be leading in a team environment that fosters innovation, individual accountability and employee engagement while building trusted relationships with both internal and external clients. You oversee the provision of business analysis/consulting services and plan ongoing business and technology needs consistent with Government and Ministry strategic plans, system standards and interfacing requirements of other ministries and agencies. This is a senior level specialist position, directing strategies and standards to be followed by other IT staff and concluding high level analysis to contribute to the Ministry’s IT policies and strategic objectives.

Job Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the information technology (IT) field; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive, related experience in an information systems environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as project manager of projects with focus on technology and business implementation, including knowledge of project management methodologies, techniques and lifecycle processes as well as risk management within a project context.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the supervision and mentoring of staff.
  • Experience with:
  • Managing, developing and implementing improvements in a team or work unit that provides hands-on operational support of large scale and custom-built technology-dependent systems.
  • Providing business analysis for key front line systems with complex interactive business processes and multi-ministry impacts.
  • Proposal evaluation as well as negotiating and managing information technology contracts.
  • Preparing and presenting briefing materials for Executive and cross-government Committees.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Additional post-secondary education in Business Analysis and Project Management certification.
