With current health and safety protocols in place due to the pandemic, we support corporation staff to conduct their work remotely. Once those protocols are removed, we anticipate a minimum standard for employees and teams to maintain an in-office presence in order to support flexibility, productivity and connection. We will determine the guidelines for in-office presence by operational need and will confirm schedules and hybrid work arrangements over the coming months.


The opportunity


We are seeking a Senior DevOps Specialist to join our team in VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada. 


As a Senior DevOps Specialist, you will be a part of a high functioning team of IT professionals. You will be engaged in fast paced, challenging and exciting work, including being a central resource in renewing our technology stack and moving to cloud-based technologies. 


This role requires an adaptable and forward-thinking individual who is committed to working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and delivering on commitments. You will assess and compare different DevOps tools/frameworks, such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins and Ansible Tower, that will help shape the future of our work. 


What do you need to succeed?


Must have:

  • University degree in computer science or related discipline and three years of recent, related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. 
  • Three years of experience in various stages of Software Development lifecycle that includes:
  • Experience with DevOps toolkit that includes, but not limited to, Git, Subversion, Jenkins, Ansible Tower, Atlassian Jira, JFrog and Artifactory; 
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Bash, Python and Javascript; 
  • Experience with Groovy or YAML; 
  • Working with build tools, such as Ant, Maven, npm and gradle; 
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline implementation for projects; 
  • Experience with implementing orchestration and configuration management. 


Nice to have:

Experience with Azure DevOps

Experience working with Docker containers. 

Experience with Java development. 

Experience with security models, including authentication, authorization, audit, and data encryption.
