PROJECT MANAGER, TERMINAL CONSTRUCTION

A results-oriented and experienced Project Manager, your goal is to effectively manage construction marine, civil, and building projects at our terminals. Reporting to the Superintendent of Terminal Construction, you will be involved in multiple projects from preliminary planning through to commissioning, as well as the development of safety programs and technical and departmental standards. Other specific responsibilities include: initiating feasibility studies and undertaking preliminary field investigations; leading stakeholder meetings and public consultation; identifying, developing and presenting project business cases; and identifying, preparing, managing and being accountable for project scope, schedule, required resources, costs and a total project budget. You will also manage the tendering process and will be required to coach project coordinators, ensuring a high degree of professionalism and organization throughout the department.

 

You will have excellent knowledge of construction contract law and expertise in the preparation, review, and interpretation of technical design documentation and drawings. You are a systematic thinker with the ability to provide effective solutions to complex problems. You have a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills which allow you to maintain effective working relationships.

 

You bring seven to ten years progressive project management experience, with considerable experience managing capital construction projects, specifically site planning and development, consultants, major contracts, project budgets and financial reporting. You possess a Bachelor Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and membership, or eligibility to be registered, as a Professional Engineer with EGBC. Alternatively, a Civil or Mechanical Engineering Technologist with AScT designation and comprehensive work experience will be considered. PMP designation is an asset.
