Manager, System Audit & Compliance

The Health Sector Information Management/Information Technology division provides a coordinated approach to information management and information technology (IM/IT) services across the Ministry of Health and provincial health sector. The division promotes the integration of health sector data into daily business operations, policy development, provides sector-wide leadership for IM/IT planning and business solutions and delivers information services directly to B.C. citizens. Within this division, the Digital Policy, Security and Privacy (DPSP) branch is accountable for the design, implementation, and continual advancement of the provincial information privacy and security framework. DPSP provides information privacy and security, leadership, expertise and advice regarding legislation, regulation, policies, industry standards, and best practices for the health sector.

$65,600.24 – $92,700.24 annually



The purpose of this position is to manage, plan and organize the operational delivery of a ministry-wide information systems audit and compliance program. The Manager, System Audit and Compliance provides advice for senior management on the effectiveness of internal controls, issues, concerns or the extent of compliance with policy in order to improve systems, improve information management, reduce waste, improve efficiencies, and enhance security or management controls.

Qualifications for this role include:

 

  • University degree or higher in information technology, computer science, business administration, public administration, or a related field and a minimum 3 years of related experience; OR
  • Diploma in information technology, computer sciences, business administration, public administration, or a related field and minimum 5 years of progressive related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or training may be considered.


Related experience must include:

 

  • Experience with audit or evaluation program
  • Experience with cybersecurity compliance
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in information security and information technology
  • Experience in information management (including privacy, access or records management)
