Junior Developer

Victoria, BC

We are looking for a bright, motivated individual to offer web development support to our online marketing team.

This full time position involves developing websites and lead generation landing pages, implementing client changes and putting in place tracking systems and innovations that will contribute to our clients’ bottom line.

What skills do you need?

● Write and test well structured, responsive, reusable front-end code with a mobile-first mentality.

● Proficiency with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript.

● WordPress / Theme / Plugin installation, configuration and management

● Practical knowledge of OO JavaScript and DOM

● Experience working with, building & editing WordPress template files, and a clear understanding of the WordPress template hierarchy.

● Basic image editing skills (we use Photoshop).

● Intermediate Microsoft Excel Skills

● Experience with Google ecosystem (Analytics, GTM, Adwords) an asset.


What will you be doing?

  • Provide Technical Support for our software clients.
  • Tweak, test and troubleshoot third-party API integrations
  • Communicate your progress & findings clearly and concisely to stakeholders and clients (often a non-technical person).
  • Software & Web Form implementations
  • Customize landing page templates to match the client's branding using our in house visual editor.
  • Write and test API integration scripts (mostly using JavaScript/JSON) using an existing code base/template.
  • Create web page design mockups using HTML, CSS and responsive design principles.
  • Edit websites (usually built in Wordpress) via the theme template files & content editor.
  • Prepare clear and concise implementation instructions for clients & their technical teams.
  • Work closely, and communicate regularly with other software companies/developers toward a common goal.
  • Webpage & Landing Page Builds
  • Design and code responsive pages & custom web elements.
  • Troubleshoot problems and barriers to a smooth user experience and come up with practical solutions.
  • Convert design mockups into well-built HTML and CSS.
  • Integrate and test web forms.
  • Design graphical elements such as icons and infographics and edit images as necessary.
  • Perform quality control on other team member’s work.
  • Set up, test and troubleshoot conversion tracking in Google Analytics, GTM and AdWords.
  • Troubleshoot Technical Issues & Solve ‘Mysteries’
  • Analyze and diagnose discrepancies in campaign data (mainly using Microsoft Excel).
  • Compare data across platforms such as Google Analytics, GTM and our internal reporting system to identify and resolve issues and inconsistencies.
  • Clearly report your findings to stakeholders and clients (often a non-technical person)
  • Audit; and maintain event tracking frameworks such as Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and custom tracking scripts.


Work Remotely?

  • Yes and no - at the beginning, most of the time would be in the office. Once training is complete, remote work may be considered.


Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: $48K-$55K
