Hybrid Work Model

This position is located in our Victoria, BC office. You will have the opportunity to work part of the time on-campus and part of the time off-campus. Guidelines and requirements for in-office presence are determined by operational need and vary according to the unique needs of each business area.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Vendor Management Analyst to join our team in VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada.

As a Vendor Management Analyst at BC Pension Corporation, you will be responsible for supporting our IT leadership with the day-to-day management of our strategic IT vendors. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and staff to ensure high quality and on time delivery of vendor services. You will support the procurement process and negotiation of vendor contracts and Master Service Agreements for strategic contracts within the Information and Technology Service (ITS) Division. Additionally, you'll help measure and monitor and report on service quality, develop new contracts, review existing contracts, and contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts for the ITS Division for services and products exceeding $10M.

This position is a part of the Divisional Business Office (DBO) business unit. The DBO is responsible for the management of IT contracts corporate wide. This includes the administration, management, and governance of all IT contracts to ensure fiscal accountability and quality service delivery. The DBO believes in continuous improvement and is currently re-imagining the way vendor management is performed within our organization. We strive to ensure that vendor transparency and accountability is achieved through our program with the goal to reduce business risks and enhance decision support.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Post-secondary degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline and four years of recent, related experience in vendor management, ideally in IT. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with the following:
  • Supporting high value IT contracts extending over many years, including contract documentation and interpretation.
  • Experience building and maintaining positive client relationships and working partnerships with client teams, vendors, and other business units.

Nice to have

  • Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
  • Experience with procurement processes (public service procurement experience is preferred), project management and coordination.
  • Experience with Microsoft tools including: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), as well as Teams and PowerBI.
  • Experience using a service management tool for IT metrics.
  • Experience researching and analyzing financial and operational data and developing recommendations with options for decision making.
