What you’ll be doing…

Reporting to the Supervisor, Technology Projects, Budget Analyst work with Project Managers and project leads to prepare project budgets and analyze actual budget and forecast variances. They will also provide analytical support in these areas by preparing and updating detailed budget forms and gather relevant information in order to develop budget models. 

As an essential member of the Technology Project team, Budget Analysts will demonstrate expertise in project financial management by ensuring project budgets are developed and visible to the organization, illustrating planned, current and forecast budgets. They will also utilize this expertise to provide recommendations to the Supervisor, Technology Projects in further develop project budget management at BC Transit.

What you’ll bring to the table…

  • Relevant work experience in project budget coordination, project accounting and/or project analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in financial administration, including cash-flow tracking and forecasting
  • Demonstrated experience with business case development and economic analysis, including Net Present Value calculations
  • Experience leading, assessing and monitoring project budgets, finance instruments and agreements
  • Certification or working towards either a Certified Budget Analyst (CBA) or Certified Project Finance Specialist (CPFS) designation would be considered an asset
