British Columbia’s Natural Resource Ministries (NRM) are the stewards of the Province’s Crown land and natural resources which reflect the diverse values and interests of all British Columbians. In order to support the growth of the economy while providing effective environmental stewardship, the province’s NRM must transform in order to advance the shared management of British Columbia’s natural resources.

The Information, Innovation and Technology (IIT) Division is leading the modernization and transformation of business practices for the NRM through continuous improvement projects, new technology options and operational information management/information technology (IM/IT). The IIT Division is providing leadership for IM/IT planning, policy and business process solutions and is also the single authority for all information and technology across the NRM.

The Full Stack Developer is responsible for coordinating the development and delivery of scalable web applications in a continuous deployment environment. This role also develops front-end (user interface) and back-end (server) enterprise solutions on a variety of platforms using mobile-first and test-driven design processes. The Full Stack Developer guides the leadership of the technical design, development, integration and implementation of custom applications and the development, testing and implementation of user and system interfaces and designs.

Qualifications for this role include

A degree in computer science, Computer or Software engineering or related technical field, and minimum five years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
A comparable related diploma in computer science, Computer or Software engineering or related technical field, and minimum six years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
A comparable certification(s) in computer science, Computer or Software engineering or related technical field and minimum seven years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
Experience with REST Web API development and integration
Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment principles.
Experience working in an agile development environment to iteratively create or improve digital products and services from conception to production.
Experience coaching teams, product owners and mentoring other developers
