POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Campaigns and Programs reports to the Executive Director of Sierra Club BC (SCBC) and works dynamically with our staff, Board, members and partners on advancing SCBC’s strategic goals on climate justice and ecosystem protection. This is a great opportunity to help lead a dynamic, collaborative team in a growing organization implementing its new vision and strategic plan. We are looking for someone who is deeply committed to the vision laid out in the Sierra Club BC strategic plan and who is eager to play a key role in our transformation and decolonization work.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Some main responsibilities include:

  • Help establish a shared vision among organizers, campaigners and communicators of focused priorities and mutually supportive work
  • Facilitate the development of a dynamic plan of coordinated action in alignment with the strategic plan
  • Inspire staff to think strategically and work collaboratively toward key goals
  • Co-develop and manage annual budgets, operational plans and individual work plans for campaigners
  • Develop and analyze success metrics
  • Work with the Communications Team to make sure outputs advance SCBC’s strategic goals
  • Work in collaboration with Finance and the Leadership Team to develop and execute annual organizational budgets and annual program budgets
  • Assist in fundraising and fund development

  • Experience coordinating a team
  • Commitment to respecting and upholding Indigenous legal orders
  • Familiarity with a diversity of tactics and strategies within social movements
  • Ability to think critically and make well-informed decisions
  • Ability to find common ground and bring people with diverse viewpoints together
  • Experience working in intercultural contexts and upholding JEDI (justice, equity, diversity and inclusion) principles
  • Passionate about supporting and motivating teams to achieve a shared vision


COMPENSATION 

  • This is a five days per week (37.5 hours) position, with a starting pay rate of $70,200-$81,900
  • Annual cost of living adjustments
  • Initial four weeks of paid vacation per year, with scheduled increases
