What we are looking for

We are currently seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team. This individual will develop, implement, and oversee digital content marketing campaigns for Westin Bear Mountain Resort & Spa. The role involves working closely with our team to formulate a content strategy that aligns with our company's objectives and aims to create informative and educational digital content that highlights the benefits of our luxurious five-star property.

The Victoria-based Westin Bear Mountain Resort & Spa is a luxurious 5-star establishment that boasts 91 elegant rooms, two exquisite restaurants, a bar and lounge area, a grand 300-person ballroom, and top-notch meeting and conference facilities. Additionally, our hotel features a brand new state-of-the-art spa. As a Westin-branded hotel, we are proudly affiliated with the Marriott brand.

 About the job

  • Develop and implement a digital marketing strategy that aligns with our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Create high-quality content for our website, newsletter, social media channels, email marketing campaigns, and other digital marketing channels.
  • Assist with the design and development of a variety of digital projects, monitoring their progress and impact.
  • Coordinate and manage our social media profiles, ensuring engaging and consistent content is delivered.
  • Develop and oversee email marketing campaigns, tracking their success and making improvements as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the company website, ensuring it is updated, user-friendly, and optimized for conversions while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Conduct research on industry trends and competitor activity to stay up to date on market developments and adapt content strategy accordingly.
  • Work with the management team to develop and execute paid digital advertising campaigns.
  • Optimize content for search engines and use SEO best practices to improve organic search rankings.
  • Manage relationships with internal departments to ensure coordination and timely execution of marketing programs.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of content marketing campaigns, using data to make data-driven decisions to improve future campaigns.

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in the tourism industry.
  • Proven experience coordinating successful digital marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with experience creating content for multiple digital platforms.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, social media marketing, and email marketing.
  • Ability to interpret digital marketing data and translate it into actionable strategies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing software and platforms, such as Google Analytics, Sprinklr, and content management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Graphic design experience is a plus.
