Data Solutions Specialist
$66,557.72 - $75,884.38 annually plus 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment
The Ministry of Health seeks to establish a data-driven culture that embraces the use of data in decision making. The Ministry and partner health sector organizations leverage data generated across the health system to inform planning, evaluate the effectiveness of health programs, measure, and report on health system performance, and conduct public interest research.
As the Data Solutions Specialist, you will perform data analysis and provide innovative designs/solutions for various data initiatives across the Ministry and partner organizations. This will include operational as well as data warehouse/analytics projects through the whole development cycle, including data quality and cleansing processes. Ideally you will have a deep understanding of the data governance and data quality frameworks, including data design and integration. You also have solid hands-on development experience on every step of the whole data warehouse development cycle plus you can translate business requirements into technical requirements and document them. This role will provide data analysis, data design, data modeling and data quality services. You will deliver data solution services by providing technical guidance, consultation, data research, development, and implementation of data solutions for the Ministry and partners.
Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Health Science or a related field and 3 years of related experience*; OR
- Diploma in Computer Science, Health Science or a related field and 4 years of related experience*; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and 8 years or more years of related experience*.
- A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience with relational and multi-dimensional database systems, Structured Query Language (SQL), data management principles, data integration, and documentation of business requirements.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with data warehouse processes and services.
*Related experience must include each of the following:
- Experience with analytical and extraction software (e.g., Power BI, SAS, SQL, MicroStrategy, Oracle).
- Experience with data quality improvement initiatives.
