This position is based in the Ministerial Correspondence and Research Unit (MCRU) within the Deputy Minister’s Office , but will provide services to all work units within the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training (AEST).

 

The MCRU is responsible for processing and coordinating all Ministry correspondence. This includes receiving, logging, writing, editing and finalizing responses on behalf of AEST staff. Correspondence is received from a variety of stakeholders including post-secondary, labour market, political and member associations and the general public.

 

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the development of written responses to ministerial correspondence for the signature of the Minister, Deputy Minister or other senior executives of the Ministry.

Job Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

 

  • Secondary graduation or equivalent (GED). Preference may be given to applicants with a certificate or higher in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Admin or English. Please Note: Proof of completed education (official transcripts or a picture of the completed diploma/certificate/degree bearing institution’s name) will be required if screened in for assessment and needs to be provided within 24 hours of asking.
  •  A minimum of 6 months experience proofreading and copy-editing all of the below bullet points. Preference may be given to applicants with 1 year or more experience.:
  • internal communications
  • business documents
  • corporate correspondence for senior-level or Executive staff.
