RiseUP! is an online-based, FREE government-funded program that supports Women with Disabilities in achieving secure and sustainable employment on Vancouver Island.

*Program will not affect those receiving Employment Insurance, CERB, Persons with Disabilities and/or Income Assistance*

RiseUP! includes lessons in:

• Career Exploration
• Employment Readiness - Discover your most marketable skills
• Online Presence & Promoting Yourself on Social Media
• Interview Skills & Resume Building
• Specialized Topics such as how to disclose your disability in the workplace, self-advocacy and legal rights

RiseUP! consists of 6 weeks of a virtual classroom experience followed by 12 weeks of supported work experience, training opportunities, and self-employment development.

Our team of facilitators, job developers, and employment counsellors are committed to working with participants in overcoming employment challenges, developing personal and work-related skill-sets, and identifying and securing meaningful career opportunities.

KEY POINTS

• Disability resources such as assistive technology
• Job supports available such as wage subsidy, transportation, barrier resources (i.e. housing, counselling), short- term training (i.e. first aid, FoodSafe), work gear etc. available
• Stipend for virtual classroom attendance and program participation
• Online classroom, access it anywhere
