Business Development Executive - Corporate Sale

We have a wide range of businesses including E-Commerce, Sports and Entertainment, Hospitality, Food & Beverage, and Real Estate Development and Construction (Commercial, Industrial, Residential and Sports & Entertainment Facilities).


We are currently looking for full-time Business Development Executive, specific to corporate sales. This role will be working out of Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre (SOFMC), Victoria’s premier entertainment facility and the largest arena in British Columbia outside Vancouver. The state-of-the-art 7,000 seat facility is home to the Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League and regularly hosts large-scale concerts and other special events such as figure skating, curling, trade shows and conferences. This role will be reporting to the Manager of Corporate Sales.

A day in the life:

  • Key focus on new business for Save on Foods Memorial Centre via sponsorship and advertising solutions/opportunities for new and returning clients; sell a range of ‘partnership/sponsorship packages’ (e.g.: event sponsorship, multi event sponsorship, arena advertising, rental suites, etc.)
  • Develop strategic account plans for each of the existing and development accounts, setting strategies and timescales for action and review
  • Build & maintain strong client relationships
  • Maximize earning potential by cross-selling across different events, venues
  • Develop a sales plan, strategy and pipeline for each event to ensure maximum revenue return
  • Full sales cycle, from prospect to close (you will be generating your own leads)
  • To meet or succeed yearly and monthly revenue targets by selling consistently to all possible targets; existing clients, new clients and prospects.
  • Convince the prospect of the benefits of sponsoring our events
  • Meet clients virtually and face-to-face in meetings arranged by you to present and sell sponsorship opportunities and packages
  • Generate new B2B & B2C leads
  • Daily prospecting (phone calls, emails, campaigns, social media)
  • Be able to work extra hours as and when required due to the nature of the sports and entertainment industry


You own this if you have:

  • Previous work in sponsorship sales and/or account management-based sales
  • 5+ years of B2B & B2C full sales cycle experience selling to enterprise C-Level executives
  • 5+ years of experience in sales partnerships, sponsorships, or agency
  • Understanding of sales methodologies (i.e. value selling, target account selling, solutions selling, strategic selling)
  • Proven track record of successfully working with brands to create, sell and execute best-in-class innovative venue-based marketing programs and promotions
  • Proven history of consistent over-quota achievement in net new revenue goals
  • Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Excels in face-to-face selling, presenting products and their benefits to clients
  • Confident of generating new business leads from cold calling, personal research, and industry networking
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to successfully engage key decision makers and high-profile sponsors both over the phone and face to face
  • Customer focused and knows how to build and maintain relationships
  • Results oriented
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Strong knowledge of sports and live entertainment
  • Previous Use of Salesforce CRM system
  • Understanding of various sales methodologies
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management
  • Demonstrate initiative to understand the industry and new trends and develop long-lasting partnerships
  • A proven track record of reaching and exceeding sales targets
  • Must have a strong, working understanding of marketing media
