The City of Victoria is recruiting for a Business Analyst who is a key member of the Business Solutions Division within the IT Department. This position is responsible for gathering business requirements and delivering value across both the City’s Enterprise IT Project Portfolio as well as the City’s existing Business Applications Portfolio. This is a key position within the City with a strategic focus on workforce enablement and organizational efficiencies through effective use of Enterprise Business Applications.
The IT Department is in the process of adopting DevOps as defined as the union of people, process, and products to enable continuous delivery of value to our end users and this position will play a pivotal role in that transformation. We have also been successfully rolling out transformational hyperscale cloud technology solutions across the organization. The City has embarked on a digital transformation which depends on innovative and robust IT solutions, privacy and security by design, and the governance needed to underpin it all. We leverage SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS to ensure the right solutions are delivered efficiently. Hyperscale cloud levels the playing field and lets us focus on business value rather than keeping the lights on. We recognize how essential agility and scalability are in delivering IT services now and into the future.
Our ideal candidate has a passion for delivering public sector excellence by working collaboratively with City staff at all levels to support improved business processes in support of business change management. This is an exciting opportunity to work with key stakeholders across all areas of the City to develop and deliver strategic goals related to our vision, standards and industry best practices in support of business users, department managers, business process owners, clients and other key stakeholders. The ideal applicant will have experience in business analysis, project management, and application development. Public sector experience is also an asset.
