SEEKING DIRECTORS
TO SERVE ON THE SOUTH ISLAND PROSPERITY PARTNERSHIP BOARD OF DIRECTORS
South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP) seeks up to 3 new board members to serve 3-year terms commencing on June 13th, 2024 at our Annual General Meeting.
SIPP is an energetic, visionary economic development organization committed to building an innovative, diversified, inclusive and sustainable economy for Greater Victoria.
Board applicants should be driven by the belief that they can make a difference in the South Island’s economic future by leveraging their experience, skills and connections in one or more of the following areas: corporate governance, accounting, legal, industry transformation, innovation, entrepreneurship, business, technology, economic development, equity, diversity and inclusion.
Applicants that have further skills and experience that can help to advance the development of the Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies (COAST) and/or the Indigenous Prosperity Centre (IPC) are encouraged to apply and may be given preference.
SIPP is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, which is why we have signed on to the Federal Government’s 50 – 30 Challenge asking that organizations aspire to two goals:
- Gender parity (“50%”) on Canadian board(s) and senior management; and
- Significant representation (“30%”) on Canadian board(s) and senior management of other under-represented groups, including racialized persons, people living with disabilities (including invisible and episodic disabilities) and members of the LGBTQ2 community.
