ASSISTANT TREASURER

Victoria

 

You are a results-driven, strategic and analytical thinker, motivated to support BC Ferries’ long-term financial sustainability by supporting the Treasurer in the development and implementation of financial risk management policies and strategies. Leading a team of Treasury Analysts, you oversee treasury operations, including daily cash management, debt, investments and derivative transactions. You are also responsible for managing relationships with banks, credit agencies, external funding sources, and suppliers, producing applications for alternative funding, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external agreements. 

 

Your treasury expertise ensures you have a strong understanding of treasury operations and its role in the long-term financial sustainability of the company. Your experience demonstrates your ability to grasp and translate inter-departmental business priorities. You are a collaborative team member with strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively representing the company’s interests when liaising with internal and external stakeholders. 

 

You bring a minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in in financial operations, preferably in a Treasury role. You have also completed a master’s degree (MBA, Economics, or similar), CFA or CPA designation, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
