The BC Public Service Agency (PSA) provides human resource management services and direction to provincial public service ministries and organizations in British Columbia. The PSA plays a lead role in advancing public service renewal by ensuring the BC Public Service attracts, retains, and develops the workforce government needs. The PSA supports the work of BC Public Service employees and managers by providing a wide range of human resources services.


The Human Resources Services and Solutions Division delivers a variety of services that support employee life cycle events through internet enabled self-service and a fully technology enabled contact centre. The division operates with a customer service philosophy intended to ensure reliability and responsiveness in our services.


Reporting directly to the Deputy Minister and Head of the BC Public Service Agency, the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) provides strategic leadership to the division and delivers on government’s vision through development of the service and business plans, the budget and workforce plan. To ensure the diverse clients’ needs are met, the ADM is actively looking for opportunities to improve service delivery and fosters a culture of service excellence.


The incumbent is an experienced people-focused senior executive with a proven record of establishing, transforming, or realigning a business operation, and implementing strategic change. Success in this role involves building innovative and service driven culture with strong employee engagement. Project management skills and financial acumen are also vital in this position. In addition to the experience required, the ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in a related field. Preference may be given to candidates with experience in program and service delivery in the public sector.
