Account Executive

Remote (Victoria, BC)

Overstory Media Group seeks a goal-oriented, driven, and hungry Account Executive to connect the growing audiences of our Vancouver Island titles with local businesses looking for local marketing solutions.


This is a full-time opportunity, with bonuses on sales targets, to be a part of a local media organization that’s dedicated to supporting the growth and expanding the reach of news brands whose purpose is connecting audiences with their communities. 


WHAT YOU’LL DO


  • Create and build relationships with local and regional brand partners
  • Unearth new sales opportunities through networking and turn them into long-term partnerships
  • Remain in regular contact with your clients to understand and meet their needs
  • Make outbound calls to prospective clients, following up throughout the sales cycle to ensure needs are being met
  • Follow-up on inbound sales leads
  • Onboard clients by learning about and satisfying their needs
  • Compile and analyze data to find trends
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording, tracking, and reporting of sales activities and customer/competitive information through the CRM
  • Work with internal team to develop sales strategies
  • Stay current on company offerings and industry trends
  • Negotiate all contracts with prospective clients
  • Oversee sales process and facilitate order fulfillment
  • Execute booked sales campaigns, coordinating booking calendar, gathering creative materials, submitting to various platforms or teams internally


WHAT YOU BRING


  • Minimum 3 years in a sales or business development role, preferably on Vancouver Island
  • Deep knowledge of digital marketing and the ability to craft smart strategies for clients
  • A track record for negotiating and closing deals
  • Ability to think on the fly and work in a fast-paced, always changing environment
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Google Suite, and Slack
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to be a self-starter, self-motivated, and not afraid of challenges
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Exceptional eye for detail and quality control
  • Passion for sales and helping local business growth
